To explore Azamara Club Cruises - click here!
It’s been said that guests sail with Azamara for the destinations, but come back for the staff and crew. Whether you’re greeted with a cool towel, a warm smile, or a glass of sparkling wine after a rewarding day spent onshore, the staff and crew are always ready and waiting to welcome back on the ship. Everyone from our captains to our dinner servers puts the guests as their top priority. You’ll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the staff and crew get to know you. And you’ll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
The smaller ships also offer the big advantage of being able to sail to places larger cruise lines can’t. For instance, we sail to the doorstep of Bangkok, while other large cruise lines dock a few hours away. We sail to the city center of Bordeaux, the heart of Seville, and within a short walk to Hong Kong’s buzzing nightlife and Shanghai’s famous Bund. Being near the center of action is much more fun.
INCLUSIVE AMENITIES FOR ALL GUESTS:***

To explore Blount cruises - click here!
Every sailing is an adventure & is a little different. It comes from a once in a lifetime combination of passengers, crew and destination that make for something truly magical. The first thing you notice is the casual atmosphere. So why not take a photography class, and get to know your cameras a little better, and maybe even make your vacation pictures a little more interesting along the way? Or attend a wine tasting, featuring vintages from the city on the banks of the river you’re cruising? Or learn from an onboard naturalist, teaching you about the wildlife at your next destination?
Blount cruises are filled with people filled with curiosity, you’re just as likely to learn a thing or two from your fellow passengers before you come home.
The possibilities keep coming once you land onshore. The cruises have kayaks, snorkel equipment, and bikes available. So if you’re looking to explore the port, the stuff you need is there. Over the years, a close relationships has developed in many of the ports, so shore excursions are always personal, unexpected, and rewarding. You could end up visiting a small thatched-roof village, blowing soap bubbles, and laughing with local children. Exploring ancient Mayan ruins. Or, enjoying bluegrass music by the banks of the Mississippi.
Unique destinations you won't visit on other small ships. Like Guatemala’s Rio Dulce, a shallow river bordered by rain forest, and filled with amazing wildlife. Cruising down the river, you won't see any other cruise ships. But you will see the traditional carved wooden canoes of the local fishermen, gliding just off starboard. You'll see dramatic gorges. And villages filled with thatched roofs and warm hearted residents, ready to welcome you to their corner of this spectacular landscape. Only Blount takes you to the small, unspoiled corners of the tropics, like Mayaguana, one of the most remote islands in the Bahamas, and home to beautiful reefs and historic shipwrecks. Or West Snake Cay, a remote, untouched coral ridge that's home to manatees and thousands of tropical fish.
Blount helps you explore America's great waterways, like the Mississippi, Lake Champlain, and the Hudson River. Even the Erie Canal, a waterway many thought couldn't be navigated by a cruise ship. Thanks to a retractable pilot house invented by Luther, Blount ships slip under the famous low bridges of the canal, past small towns and historic port villages, deep into the heart of America’s past. Or drop anchor in Canada’s Georgian Bay, near the North channel, and take stargazing to another level.
When you take a small ship adventure everything's different. You’re joined by fewer than a hundred people. And more often than not, they’re people just like you. Curious. Casual. Adventurous. They’re looking for something more personal than the big ships can offer. Something more than deck after deck of strangers.
Every part of your cruise is simply more personal. You’ll dine in a single sitting with an open seating plan, giving you the freedom to meet your fellow travelers. Want to go exploring in your own way? Just grab some snorkeling equipment, or sign up for kayaking or biking. It’s that simple. Simply put, small-ship cruising is a more personal way to vacation. So, when you share a corner of the top deck at sunset, you’re sharing it with a friend, not just another stranger among thousands. When you need something for your stateroom you ask Tina, not “housekeeping”.
When you cruise with Blount, many parts of your cruise experience are included in your fare. Your accommodations onboard, delicious meals and all onboard entertainment is included. What’s more, most cruises have a historian or naturalist traveling with you, ready to provide information about the sights, people and wildlife you’re seeing. Your fare also covers things like our glass-bottom boat tours, snorkeling excursions, and performances by local musicians, storytellers and area experts.
You’ll get to know your chefs personally. Our chefs pride themselves in providing healthy meals made from local ingredients, and often create meals based on regional specialties of the destination you’re visiting. All meals are served in a single sitting, with an open seating policy. So it’s easy to get to know your fellow passengers as you share stories about the day’s adventures. In between meals, beverages and snacks are available 24 hours a day. Have dietary restrictions? Just tell our chefs, and they’ll whip up something just for you.
When you cruise with Blount, you’re invited to “bring your own bottle”. So if you have a favorite bottle of bubbly, a great wine from home, or a certain kind of cocktail you love to sip at sunset, bring it along, and we'll keep it chilled in the lounge. We’ll provide the mixers, bar- ware, and bottle storage, free.
Many of our cruises feature live music, played by local musicians from our favorite destinations. Depending on the cruise, you could hear steel drum bands, jazz, bluegrass, or even some reggae. Or, you can grab your camera and take part in our photography classes, and make your vacation snapshots Pulitzer-ready. You could sip your way through a wine tasting. Or enjoy seminars about local culture, cuisine and history of our destinations. Of course, there are plenty of chances to dance under the stars, and much more.
Time in port is valuable, so a diverse selection of excursions is created that make every trip off ship something special. So put on your bathing suit, and go snorkeling in pristine waters. Explore coral reefs right off the stern, far away from the big crowds. Take a bike out for a pedal-powered tour. Learn from a naturalist about the local flora and fauna. Or sign up for kayaking, and get a whole new perspective on the world.
Plenty of optional excursions are offered to help you get even more out of your vacation. You could explore the ancient ruins of Quirigua in Guatemala. Experience colonial Williamsburg. Or discover the many wonders of the Niagara region, including wineries, and even ride the Maid of the Mist to the base of Niagara Falls. And the glass bottom boat, guided tours of favorite ports, and the chance to experience destinations, without feeling like you’re being herded among thousands of other travelers.
Cruise small, and you’ll meet the locals. Not at a souvenir booth on a pier. But on their street. In their neighborhood. You’ll share a few laughs, and maybe even share lunch. They’re the kind of experiences you can only have when you get to know a place through its people.
Small ship cruising means finding adventure in small towns. On isolated beaches. And in the friendships that always seem to form onboard. One dinner, one shared sunset, and one great conversation at a time.
Retractable pilot houses. Bow ramps. A shallow draft, that allows the ship to sail in less than seven feet of water. The draft refers to how far below the waterline the lowest part of a ship is. Amazingly, after years of perfecting all of the ships in the fleet have drafts of less than seven feet. So, even though they can hold 96 passengers, a crew, engines, glass bottom boats, kayaks, and a whole lot more, our ships can clear obstacles that would stop other ships in their tracks.
Through the years, we've added many features and refurbished the decor. But one thing has stayed the same- a dedication to a casual cruising experience. There’s no white glove dining service, no formal attire, and no luxurious staterooms. But there is a 180-degree vista-view lounge —the ideal place to get to know your fellow passengers as glorious, scenic landscapes unfold before you. Go upstairs, and you’ll find the upper deck, the perfect place to catch a breathtaking view, or catch a few rays.
When it comes time for a good night’s sleep, our ships offer four categories of small-ship cruising cabins. Each cabin features individual air conditioning, which continuously brings fresh air into your room, day and night. Your room also features a private shower and washrooms, and a fresh, smoke-free environment. Add the refurbished staterooms onboard our Grande class ships, and you get a casual, relaxing, welcoming place to end the day.

The line's destinations are worldwide including Alaska with extensive land tour packages in conjunction with their cruises, Bermuda, Caribbean, Europe, Asia and Hawaii. Their dining rooms have Italian staff. Princess places a heavy emphasis on their onboard entertainment. Having become nationally recognized because of the Television Show of the 80's, they adopted the tag line from the show “The Love Boat”. For years, Princess was anti families based upon how they built their ships. In the past few years, they have changed their opinion of families as this is now the largest segment of the cruising population and they are now trying to target them. They have children’s facilities on their newest ships and their children’s program is in operation when there are ample children on board. Princess claims that they are able to offer something for everyone.
Princess has multiple dining options, as well as traditional two seating and open seating by reservation. Alternative Italian restaurant requires reservations.
